Nnamdi Alexander Mezue is a renowned filmmaker and the visionary founder of Brewstarz/Maxibeats/Brewstarz Films. NGOZICHUKWU SIMDY is a Nigerian writer, producer, Assistant Director, Line Producer, Production Manager, and actress, as well as the founder of SIMCODE DIGITAL STUDIOS. Since transitioning fully into filmmaking in 2019, she has established herself as a versatile filmmaker with experience spanning development, production, and post-production, contributing to projects that combine compelling storytelling with strong production execution. Her producing credits include IJEDI (Marital Journey), Christmas Fantasy Gone Wrong, and Tests and Mishaps. She served as Line Producer on God’s Wife, an official selection at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025 and the African Film Festival 2025. As Associate Producer on Blackout and Life in a Day, she played a key role in the production of both films. Blackout went on to win Best International Feature Film at the Yampa Valley Film and Sport Festival 2025 and Best Nollywood Film at the Kitchener Waterloo International Film Festival (KWIFF) 2025. As an Assistant Director, Ngozichukwu Simdy has worked on projects including The 9th, Edges of Choice, and IKENGA (The Last Festival), distributed by FilmOne Entertainment for nationwide cinema release. She has also appeared as an actress in productions such as Blackout, Strained, and Black Heart. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with respected industry professionals, including Okechukwu Oku, Kanayo O. Kanayo, and Uche Agbo, the current President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). Working in roles such as Production Manager, Line Producer, and Assistant Director has strengthened her ability to lead teams, manage complex productions, and deliver projects efficiently from concept to completion. Committed to continuous growth, Ngozichukwu Simdy completed the Chris Odeh Filmmaking Masterclass (MCWCO 6.0) in 2025, further expanding her knowledge of filmmaking and production. Passionate about authentic African storytelling, she is committed to developing films that entertain, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations while creating opportunities for emerging talent and contributing to the continued growth of the African film industry.
